Over the last several months, our family has given wholehearted thought to how we should best honor Tyler's legacy and make a real impact in the recovery community so other families don't face the same fate as us. While our hearts still hurt over our tragedy, we know it doesn't have to be everyone's ending. We still believe recovery is possible, and we want to help people achieve it however we can. After much planning, reflecting, and healing, we are officially ready to start raising awareness, raising funds, and helping our community recover.
Tyler’s Triumph will host its official launch and first fundraiser on Saturday, October 14 - what would have been Tyler's 30th birthday. The event will raise funds and awareness for mental health and addiction in a celebration of Tyler's life.
The fundraiser will be held at Giannotti’s Country Manor in Fleetwood, PA beginning at 1 pm. Admission is $30 per person and includes food and beverages. The event will feature remarks from Alysa Bainbridge, former Miss Pennsylvania and President of Tyler’s Triumph, as well as Vice President, Michele Bainbridge. Philadelphia-based speaker and mental health advocate, Kristen Harootunian, will give a keynote address. Senator Judy Schwank and representatives from Senator Chris Gebhard’s office will also be in attendance to give remarks.
Though the event is born from tragedy and memorializes a battle lost to addiction, our mission remains to provide hope for recovery.
“We certainly wish Tyler’s story ended differently and he could join us for his 30th birthday party,” says Alysa Bainbridge. “However, we’ve seen countless examples that recovery is very possible. We want to celebrate and raise awareness of that, and ultimately help people achieve recovery.”
Attendees will receive overdose response training and be sent home with Naloxone, as well as encouraged to take Tyler’s Triumph’s “More Than Stigma Pledge”.
Proceeds help Tyler’s Triumph provide financial support to people in recovery from mental health and substance use disorders, as well as bring "The More Than Program" to the community.
If you can't join us for the launch, consider participating in our #30for30Challenge. During this campaign that will run throughout the month of October, we encourage our supporters to donate $30 to Tyler's Triumph in honor of his birthday.
As always, we appreciate your support beyond words and remind you that you are so much #MoreThan whatever struggle you face.
Sincerely,
The Bainbridge Family
